Gaye’s never fail scone recipe

1  1/2 cups of flour

3 teaspoons Baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

a good pinch of cayenne pepper

60 gm cold butter, grated

good handful of tasty cheese

3/4 cup milk

Heat oven to 205 – 210 degrees. Place baking paper on cold oven tray.

Sift together the dry ingredients then add the grated butter and cheese.

Mix with a fork. Add milk to form a soft dough. DO NOT OVER MIX dollop in tablespoon lots onto the baking tray.. Pile high rather  than flat and put extra grated cheese on top.

Cook for 10 – 12 minutes (approx)

You will see how easy it is to increase this recipe, for each additional half cup of flour, add another teaspoon of BP and another 1/4 cup of milk, 20 gm butter and a bit more of everything else!
